It is with fond memories that we celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore.
Judge Moore was the first woman to serve as Chief Judge to the Superior Court of Fulton County and the first African-American woman to serve as chief administrative judge on any judicial circuit in Georgia. Her contributions helped lead the state and county to a more diverse and inclusive judicial system, and she was dedicated to a life of service and justice throughout her career. Judge Moore received the Judicial Excellence Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Diversity and Inclusion from the Georgia State Bar Association.
Her official portrait hangs in Judge Kimberly Esmond Adams' courtroom and her legacy reverberates throughout our courtrooms.
Judge Moore will be forever remembered as a trailblazer and strong voice for diversity in our justice system.
