"My door is always open," says incoming Chief Judge Ural Glanville

This December, Judge Glanville will be sworn in as the next Chief Judge of the Fulton County Superior Court. As he prepares to transition into the administrative leadership position, he’s opening up about what jurists can expect from him in his newest role.

For 25 years, Judge Ural Glanville has been a staple at the Fulton County Courthouse. After eight years as a magistrate judge and 17 years on the superior court bench, he’ll soon become the next chief judge of the Atlanta Judicial Circuit.

Hand-picked by his peers, Glanville said he’s humbled to serve as Chief Judge Christopher S. Brasher’s successor following his retirement on Dec. 1.

“To be asked by your colleagues to serve as first among equals is always humbling,” Glanville said. “I consider it to be just something of a personal privilege and pride that they did, in fact, ask me to serve in that capacity.”
