Supervision Orientation

WHAT TO EXPECT WHILE IN PRETRIAL SERVICES

Supervision Orientation

During your first appointment with Pretrial Services, you will be assigned a Pretrial Officer, who will inform you of your reporting day and level. During Orientation, Life Skills will be covered to assist clients in improving their well-being.  Work Readiness will also be covered and is designed to assist clients with employment.  If appropriate, the Pretrial Officer will also make referrals to the Community Resource Coordinator based on your needs.

Confidentiality

The circumstances surrounding your arrest are public information, as is your bond information. Details about your participation in Pretrial Services (i.e., drug screens, treatment attendance, etc.) are not released without your permission.  An exception is made when a violation petition is filed with the Court.  In this instance, the violation becomes part of your Court file and is a public record.

Alcohol and Drug Testing

Some individuals are required to submit to random alcohol and drug screens due to case related charges; however some screens are required regardless of the charge.  Your Pretrial Officer will determine when drug screens will be conducted.

Employment Changes

While under Pretrial Services Supervision, it is preferred you work or attend school.  You will need to show your Pretrial Officer either proof of employment or attendance at school.  Bring a current pay stub or schedule of classes to serve as evidence that you comply with the court-ordered condition of release.

Special Court-Ordered Release

The Judge may add any special conditions, including, but not limited to:

  • Curfew
  • Electronic Monitoring
  • Mental Health Evaluation/Treatment
  • Drug/Alcohol Evaluation/Treatment
  • No Contact (with victim or co-defendant/s) —no phone calls, visits, text messages, email, social media, letters, etc.
  • No Further Violent Contact — if a domestic violence case, you may live in the same location, but no violent contact can take place.
Stay Away (from a particular location)
  • Proof of Regular School Attendance

Violation of any conditions could result in the revocation of your bond.
