Fulton County Superior Court Judges
The twenty judges of the Superior Court preside over felony criminal cases, contract disputes, appeals from Magistrate Court, administrative agency appeals, and various other actions. In addition, the Superior Court has exclusive jurisdiction over all cases involving divorce and child custody, title to land, injunctions, and all other equity actions.
Chief Judge Glanville has served on the Superior Court bench since 2005 and as Chief Judge since 2022. He previously served as a Magistrate Judge for Fulton County from 1995-2004.
Judge Schwall has served on the Superior Court bench since 2005. He previously served as a judge for both the State Court of Fulton County and the Fulton County Magistrate Court.
Judge Adams has served on the Superior Court bench since 2009. She received her JD from Notre Dame Law School and graduated from Howard University with a BA in political science.
Judge Ellerbe has served as a Superior Court Judge since 2011, as the Presiding Judge of the Metro Atlanta Business Case Division since January 2019, and as an Adult Felony Drug Court Judge for 5 years.
Judge McBurney has served on the Superior Court bench since 2012 and was also Chief Judge from 2018-2020. He has also been serving on the Adult Felony Drug Court since 2015.
Judge Barwick has served on the bench of the Superior Court since 2015. She attended the University of Georgia School of Law and Wesleyan University.
Judge Cox has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2017. He graduated from Boston College Law School and cum laude from Morehouse College.
Judge Dunaway has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2017. He received his JD from Mercer University School of Law and a BA from Morehouse College.
Judge Edwards has served on the bench of Superior Court since 2017. She previously served Fulton County Juvenile Court from 2005-2012, and as Chief Judge from 2008-2012.
Judge Whitaker has served on the bench of Superior Court since 2017. She received her JD from Duke University School of Law and a BA magna cum laude from College of Charleston.
Judge Ingram has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2018, having previously served as a Magistrate Judge for Fulton County from 2015-2018.
Judge Farmer has served on the Superior Court bench since 2018. He received his JD from Mercer Law School and a BA in political science from the Univ. of Wisconsin.
Judge Krause has served on the Superior Court bench since 2018. She received her JD from Mercer Law School and a BA in political science from Georgia Southern University.
Judge Richardson has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2019. She received her JD from Emory University Law School and AB from Duke University.
Judge Carnesale has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2019. She received her JD from Emory University School of Law and BA with honors from Univ. of NC.
Judge Leftridge has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2021. She previously served as a Judge for the Magistrate Court of Fulton County for 13 years.
Judge Williams has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2021. She received her JD from Georgetown University and a BA from Howard University.
Judge Eaton has served on the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County since 2021. He received his JD from Georgia State University College of Law and a BS from Univ. of Alabama.
Judge McAfee joined the bench of Superior Court of Fulton County in February of 2023. He received his JD from the University of Georgia School of Law and a BA from Emory University.
Judge Benton has served on the Superior Court bench since 2024. She received her JD from The University Of Georgia School of Law and a BA from Vanderbilt University.
